Christian Hepp, JLL’s former head of real estate corporate finance, has left the firm to become HSBC’s global co-head of real estate, CoStar News can reveal.

A spokesperson for JLL said: “We confirm that Christian Hepp has decided to leave JLL to take his career in a new direction. Christian joined us in 2014 as Head of our German M&A Advisory business and, latterly took on a similar role in JLL’s well-established London-based pan-EMEA team.

“We thank him for his contributions to our diversified capital markets business in EMEA and wish him the best for the future.

Separately, Tim Edghill, a director on the same desk, who was widely tipped to take the head of corporate finance role, has also left JLL to start his own company. He will, however, continue to act as a consultant to the business.

The JLL spokesperson added: “After 25 years with JLL, Tim Edghill left earlier this year to pursue his own business venture. However, we are delighted that Tim continues to work with us as a consultant linking in with JLL's sector specialists across our healthcare, student housing and residential teams.

“JLL continues to invest in providing a comprehensive suite of services to support clients whatever their real estate needs, be it to invest in real estate, find space, manage it or deliver projects. Our offering to investor clients encompasses a range of services, from transaction support to M&A, and funds advisory to joint ventures – across the capital stack and a full range of traditional to alternative real estate sectors.”
